Product Care
OVERVIEW
  • Looking after your CHARLES & KEITH products will help you get the most out of them. Avoid contact with water, perfumes, oil-based cosmetics and abrasive agents.

  • After each use, wipe them down with a soft, damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt. Ensure they are completely dry before putting them away.

  • Store your items in a box or dust bag, in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. This will help preserve their shape and integrity.

  • Our products are made from a variety of materials, each requiring special care. You can find detailed information on how to look after each material on the left.

Leather
  • Clean genuine leather with a horsehair shoe brush or a soft, dry cloth. Be as gentle as you can and clean in repeated circular motions.

  • Avoid getting your product wet. In the event that it does, soak up the excess moisture with an absorbent cloth and let it air dry. Do not use any high-heat measures, such as blowing it with a hairdryer, which can damage the material.

  • Ensure your hands are clean when handling your product, as genuine leather has a tendency to absorb grease and oil.

  • Wrap exposed hardware, such as buckles and zippers, with a piece of tissue paper to keep it from causing imprints or scratches on your leather product.

  • When not in use, place your leather products separately in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

FAUX LEATHER
  • Clean faux leather with a soft, damp cloth. Leave it to air dry or remove excess moisture with a soft, dry fabric such as a microfibre cloth.

  • Avoid using an abrasive cloth or sponge on your product, and do not rub or scrub it, as it can damage the material and cause cracks.

  • Do not dry clean your product as it will cause damage.

  • Keep your product away from heat and direct sunlight as long-term exposure can cause cracks.

  • When not in use, place your faux leather products separately in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

Suede
  • Clean suede products with a soft pencil eraser. Make sure the eraser is clean and has not been used before. Be gentle and do not rub with excessive force as this may damage the material. Once clean, brush the product with a soft bristle brush to restore the nap.

  • Avoid getting your product wet. In the event that it does, let it air dry away from direct sunlight and heat.

  • When not in use, place your suede products in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

Fabric
  • Fabrics are delicate so clean them gently with a damp sponge or soft cloth. Do not use excessive force as it may damage the material.

  • Allow fabric products to air dry completely.

  • When not in use, place your fabric products separately in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity

EMBELLISHED
  • Clean your embellished products by dipping a soft cloth in mild soap and wiping gently. Wipe off the soap solution with a clean, damp cloth and let it air dry.

  • Avoid immersing the products in water.

  • Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

  • When not in use, place your embellished products in a storage box or dust bag.

Straw & Raffia
  • Clean straw and raffia products with a damp sponge or soft cloth. Add mild soap if needed and rub gently. Do not use excessive force as it may damage the material. Wash off the soap with water and a soft sponge or cloth. Air dry your product completely before storing it.

  • When not in use, place your straw in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

Nylon & Polyester
  • Clean nylon and polyester products with a damp sponge or soft cloth. Add mild soap if needed and rub gently. Do not use excessive force as it may damage the fabric. Wash off the soap with water and a sponge or soft cloth. Air dry your product completely before storing it.

  • When not in use, place your nylon products in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

Velvet
  • Velvet is a very absorbent material, so use a microfibre cloth to dry up liquid stains before they set in. If you do not have a microfibre cloth on hand, use something absorbent, such as a soft cloth or a paper towel.

  • Then, gently dab the surface with a damp sponge or a soft brush and some mild soap. Wipe away the soap solution with a clean, dry cloth.

  • Gently press on the wet area with a microfibre cloth, soft cloth or paper towel to dry it. Air dry completely before storing.

  • When not in use, place your velvet products in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

Satin
  • Clean satin with a soft bristle brush. Make sure to remove all the loose dirt as any leftover debris that gets rubbed into the fabric may cause a stronger stain.

  • Then, gently dab the surface using a soft damp cloth such as microfibre. Only use water that’s cold or has been cooled down. Never use hot water as it can cause discolouration or shrinkage.

  • Once you have finished washing out the soap, use a soft dry cloth to remove as much moisture as possible. Use a dabbing motion and do not rub as it may cause water streaks on the fabric.

  • Satin is very delicate and can get damaged easily. Handle your product with extra care and be mindful of weather conditions to help them last longer.

  • Avoid wearing your product in wet weather. In the event that it does get wet, dry with an absorbent soft cloth or a paper towel. Air drying may leave water stains.

DENIM
  • Clean denim with a soft cloth or sponge dipped in cold water and mild soap. Do not use excessive force as it may damage the fabric. Wash off the soap with water and a soft cloth or sponge. Air dry away from direct sunlight to prevent the material from fading.

  • When not in use, place your denim products separately in a storage box or dust bag. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity.

FAUX FUR
  • Clean faux fur with a damp sponge or soft cloth. Add mild soap if needed and rub gently on the stain. Gently wipe off the residue in the direction of the fur.

  • As part of your regular cleaning, use a soft bristle brush to gently brush the surface. Brushing helps to remove surface level dirt and debris build-up.

  • If your product gets wet, immediately use a clean, dry cloth to blot as much of the liquid out as possible. Leave it to air dry and never use heat.

  • When not in use, place your faux fur products separately in a storage box or dust bag. This will help to prevent the unnatural flattening of the fibres. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight, moisture and humidity. Over exposure to sunlight can cause discoloration and damage to the fibres.

Metal
  • Keep your metal jewellery away from moisture and liquids. Be sure to wipe and dry them right away if they get wet.

  • Remove jewellery before going swimming, doing vigorous exercise or working with your hands, to keep them from damage.

  • When removing your rings, do not pull them off by the gemstone, as it can cause the metal setting to loosen over time. Instead, slide them off your finger.

  • To preserve your gems and jewellery in their original state, store each piece separately to avoid scratches and chips.

  • Wrap each piece individually, or store them in a designated compartment to avoid any tangles. When travelling, make sure your jewellery pieces are not packed too closely to each other.

  • To avoid rapid tarnishing, keep jewellery away from the sun, moisture and humidity, especially if you are storing them in the bathroom. If you live in a humid place, take extra care and clean them more often.

  • For best results, store your jewellery in a box so they do not collect dust.
