CHARLES & KEITH is pleased to announce its partnership with Kareen Kaur, Singapore’s first-ever female driver to compete in Formula 4. At just 16, the Most Promising Sportswoman award winner is blazing a fiery trail in her field, with an especially bright future ahead.

Tenacity Is the Name of the Game

“Whether you are in the front or the back row, it’s always about pushing forward.”

In our continuous endeavour to nurture and support emerging talent, Kareen Kaur is the latest to join the list. As Singapore’s first female driver to compete in Formula 4 — an incredible achievement she has been working towards since she started karting at the age of nine — the 16-year-old represents a new generation of boundary-pushing individuals. “I am proud to represent Singapore,” the teenager told us. “I hope that my journey in motorsport inspires other girls to take up the sport and believe that they, too, can succeed.”

Kaur’s confidence stands out to us as it comes naturally to the young racer. Out of sheer curiosity, we asked Kaur where her confidence comes from, to which she replied, “Confidence comes from being prepared and having a great support system.” She went on to credit her family, sponsors and coaches for helping her build her confidence.

On practice days, Kaur makes sure she always shows up with the right attitude and in style. The Nylah tote bag is her go-to — not just because the edgy grommet and lace details mirror her cool-girl personality, but also because it is spacious enough to fit her everyday essentials. The Jollie Mary Jane sneakers are a comfortable pair to slip into on her way to the tracks.

Despite her young age, Kaur demonstrates an impressive level of maturity. When asked about her goals for the future, she responded swiftly and without hesitation: “My short-term vision is clear: to become the first Singaporean female Formula 1 driver, representing both my country and the region. Beyond this, I also aim to build a legacy that inspires girls in Singapore to pursue their dreams, even in male-dominated fields.”

Stay On Track

“I am focused on my craft and always aiming for the podium. There is no room to let your emotions and negative thoughts get in the way once you put the helmet on.”

As we wrapped up our conversation with the racer, we asked her if she had any parting words or advice for other young girls who would like to follow in her footsteps. “I think it is important to believe in yourself and never give up,” Kaur said, noting that the mind is a powerful tool for overcoming inner doubts and manifesting success. “Based on experience, I know that when I tell myself I can’t, the chances of me failing are almost 100%. By putting aside self-doubt, I am able to pick myself up and continue pushing forward. You must believe in the process.”
