Introducing ORGANIC DENIM collection to benefit Meat Free Monday
Charles & Keith is pleased to announce its latest green initiative to raise awareness of climate change with the ORGANIC DENIM collection: an eco-friendly range of classic pieces reinterpreted using ethical fabric choices. In conjunction with World Environment Day, the collection will be available in all local stores* from 05 June 2011 onwards. The collection consists of peep-toe pumps and double chain quilted handbag carefully crafted using organic denim, our tribute to care for the environment.
The ORGANIC DENIM
Collection aims to elevate the edgy rawness of denim and give it an urbane spin by applying it to classic designs. Designed for the multifaceted lifestyle of the modern woman, the denim heels and bag are stylish yet versatile and practical. They are ideal for day to night, casual chic to smart formal wear.
The denim fabric is made with 100% organic cotton and free from chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. The entire production of the fabric adheres strictly to ecological standards: from spinning, dyeing to finishing of the denim. It involves non-toxic fiber processing, colourants and fabric treatments ensuring that no damage was caused to the environment for the production of the collection.
FOR A GREEN CAUSE
Charles & Keith will be donating a portion of the sale proceeds from the collection to Meat Free Monday (MFM), an eco-movement founded by Sir Paul McCartney and his daughters, Mary and Stella McCartney. The initiative raises awareness on how one can reduce environmental impact and live a healthier lifestyle by giving up meat for one day each week.
