SINGAPORE, 27th APRIL 2009 – Charles & Keith is proudly supporting the United Nations Development Fund for Women, UNIFEM Singapore. In its socially responsible efforts, Charles & Keith's humanitarian partnership with UNIFEM Singapore, aims to end violence against women as well as promoting the women's empowerment and gender equality globally. Therefore, Charles & Keith is honored to launch the island wide fundraising campaign with its very own LIMITED EDITION UNIFEM BRACELET – CHERIS.

UNIFEM is the women's fund at the United Nations whose mission is to provide funds and support for women in need of help globally. Some of the programs include Economic Empowerment Programs which enable women to develop business and entrepreneurial skills to access local, national and global markets; Governance and Leadership Programs aims to give women a voice and visibility by encouraging their leadership in decision making processes that shape their lives and Conflict Area Programs which provide services for women violated during war and armed conflict.
Within this UNIFEM non-profit funding organizations, there is also UNIFEM Trust Fund, which helps to support actions to eliminate violence against women, including projects in the areas of: HIV/AIDS, female infanticide, trafficking, forced prostitution, domestic violence, sexual abuse and rape.
To garner further support from the public, Charles & Keith will donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the limited edition UNIFEM BRACELET- "CHERIS" in all Charles & Keith stores. This year's campaign will again benefit women internationally, where at least one in every three women who has been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused could be saved. Together with UNIFEM, Charles & Keith is proud to continue its dedication to saving and improving the lives of millions of women around the world.
